Your new role:

We are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial department managing several national projects and the estimating/bid function for the company. The successful candidate will report directly to the Commercial Manager and will provide support in Commercial/estimating/big areas. It requires a high degree of business acumen.


This position requires somebody to assist in ensuring that everything is completed to the necessary quality, within the allotted budget and timeframe. It also requires that an individual be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, as well as possess excellent problem-solving skills, superior organisational and communication skills and the highest level of discretion and professionalism.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost control and cost benefit analysis

  • Risk analysis evaluations

  • Monthly Valuations including additional Works

  • Monthly/Weekly Cost/Value Reports

  • Assist in the Procurement of Materials and Sub-Contractors

  • Managing Sub-Contractors Accounts

  • Re-measurement of Completed Works

  • Assisting in the Preparation of Tender Submittals and PQQ


Qualifications, Skills, Attributes and Experience:

  • A Third level Qualification in Quantity Surveying

  • 3 Years experience working with Contractor.  Previous experience with MV/HV electrical work is preferred.

  • Commercial knowledge and understanding

  • Strong IT skills with Microsoft Office packages, including diagnostic skills

  • Planning skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to juggle and manage many priorities

  • Ability to work independently
